Chapter 3, Faith.= Belief = Success….
FAITH IS A STATE OF MIND WHICH MAY BE INDUCED BY AUTO-SUGGESTION
All down the ages, the religionists have admonished struggling humanity to “have faith” in this,
that, and the other dogma or creed, but they have failed to tell people HOW to have faith.
They have not stated that “faith is a state of mind, and that it may be induced by self-suggestion.”
In language which any normal human being can understand, we will describe all that is known
about the principle through which FAITH may be developed, where it does not already exist.
Have Faith in yourself; Faith in the Infinite. It is a well known fact that one comes, finally,
to BELIEVE whatever one repeats to one’s self, whether the statement be true or false.
If a man repeats a lie over and over, he will eventually accept the lie as truth. Moreover, he will
BELIEVE it to be the truth. Every man is what he is, because of the DOMINATING THOUGHTS
which he permits to occupy his mind.
Thoughts which a man deliberately places in his own mind, and encourages with sympathy, and
with which he mixes any one or more of the emotions, constitute the motivating forces, which
direct and control his every movement, act, and deed!
“Life’s battles don’t always go To the stronger or faster man, But soon or late the man
who wins Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!”
Remember, How You Do Anything Is How You Do Everything.
Chapter 4, 3/31/2025
Auto-Suggestion!
By Napoleon Hill,
The Greatest Forces Are Intangible!
Auto-Suggestion is a term which applies to all
suggestions and all self-administered stimuli which
reach one’s mind through the five senses. Stated in
another way, auto-suggestion is self-suggestions.
It is the agency of communication between that part
of the mind where conscious thought takes place, and
that which serves as the seat of action for the
subconscious mind. (Napoleon Hill)
Chuck yeager broke the sound barrier back in 1947.
Nobody had broken the sound barrier before, he had
confidence in his ability to fly, however the experts
telling him it could not be done, you will blow up, it
will be like hitting a brick wall.
He had to keep his mindset positive, he had to stay
focused on the job, I am sure he had some type of positive
self talk going on in his mind.
We have a strong Desire to break the comfort zone
barrier we have to do the same thing, in order to become
a more positive thinking person we have to fill our minds
with positive thoughts, over and over again to break the
comfort zone barrier.
instead of saying “I make $100,000 per year,” say “I choose to earn $100, 000 per year.” Use emotions. In order for an autosuggestion to work, it must trigger feelings. The more meaningful the autosuggestion is to you, the more effective it is.
The main thing is that your subconscious mind must receive thoughts of EMOTION. NOT logic.
Think about your why “If it doesn’t make you cry then you don’t have one.” You have to act on your plans or else its meaningless if you do not. And you gotta keep score of what works and what doesn’t. In baseball ⚾️ you do not bunt with two outs. Otherwise it could be game over. And in football you are careful not to go off sides. Because you are only moving forward if you make a NEW mistake next time.
For years I have been working on improving my own health drastically. It’s taken a lot of belief, faith and auto-suggestion. Even to start learning to love myself as a person. Thst was a road that was having to walk.
I had to learn that was loveable, loved myself as I was. Health challenges and all, that was another part of the issue. It’s been suggesting and overcoming all that programming. Getting to the stage where it’s OK a person’s response. I just have to be proud of my own achievement even if someone else is like that’s nice.
Its saying yes i can do this, yes I believe and i am in when a opportunity comes by. Suggesting that you can do whatever you say. I can do anything that want, after years learning the skills needed and being scared of reactions it’s time to stop and become a success.
Those who react poorly are scared of doing the same. So they suggest the goal or dream is too big. I saw a post in my photos recently. “If You think I am too big for YOU. Maybe you don’t have the right tools for the job”. Very true I may have the right tools for a big job I must look out for the team who does to. They believe in the goal too.
Thank you so much to my amazing friends from mentioning for free for your friendship helping me to grow. Thank you to Linda and Michael dlouhy for giving me the way fo grow more, to become more. Thank you to Ken klemm for your mentoring and friendship. thank you to my amazing wife Jenny for your constant love.

Hill writes “All sense impressions which are perceived through the five senses, are stopped by the CONSCIOUS thinking mind, and may be either passed on to the subconscious mind, or rejected, at will. The conscious faculty serves, therefore, as an outer-guard to the approach of the subconscious.”
In other words, our mind has a guard standing at the door to our subconscious mind determining whether to let our thoughts in or reject the thoughts out. That guard is employed by us and just as an employee or a child, must be trained and taught on what is right and what is wrong, what is good and what is not good, what is positive and what is negative. IF, we teach our mind right, it will only allow the right, the good and the positive into our subconscious mind. We have absolute control if we choose to use it.
However, some become lazy and don’t teach or exercise this control and allow everything and anything to enter.
Hill also tells us “Do not become discouraged, if you cannot control and direct your emotions the first time you try to do so. Remember, there is no such possibility as SOMETHING FOR NOTHING. Ability to reach, and influence your subconscious mind has its price, and you MUST PAY THAT PRICE. You cannot cheat, even if you desire to do so. The price of ability to influence your subconscious mind is everlasting PERSISTENCE in applying the principles described here. You cannot develop the desired ability for a lower price. You, and YOU ALONE, must decide whether or not the reward for which you are striving (the “money consciousness”), is worth the price you must pay for it in effort.”
We have all been around a child that is not trained and the experience is far from pleasant.
But to be around a child that is trained is a pleasure.
Do we want our mind to reflect the child not trained, screaming, whining and having a temper tantrum because they don’t get their way. OR, do we want our mind to reflect the trained child who is polite and respectful?
As the old saying goes “What we think about, we become.”
CHAPTER 4 AUTO-SUGGESTION
THE MEDIUM FOR INFLUENCING THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND
The Third Step toward Riches
I tend to be impulsive, so paying attention to my subconscious mind is essential when invoking the faculty of creative imagination.
Chapter 4 raises the question, ‘Who are the people in my life who have been most influential to me, and how can I better harness those relationships?’
I have no doubt that my mother has been and still is a big influence in my life, and I have happy memories of my father, who passed away in 1998. There are, of course, a lot of other people who still influence my thinking.
The word ‘SUCCESS’ is written 90 times in ‘Think and Grow Rich’ and a further 56 times as a derivative word like ‘SUCCESSFUL’…
The Latin word, ‘SUCCESSUS’, translates to ‘an outcome’…
Roget’s 21st Century Thesaurus, Third Edition, suggests ‘UNHAPPINESS’ as a word with an opposite meaning to ‘SUCCESS’… thus… I choose to focus on ‘HAPPINESS’…
Thomas Van wrote a blog in 2013 entitled ‘Your Why Has To Do More Than Make You Cry,’ in which he posted an image from the Real Buddhist that reads, ‘A man asked Lord Buddha, “I want happiness.” Lord Buddha said,” First, remove “I,” that’s ego. Then, remove “Want,” that’s desire. See, now you are left with only “Happiness.”
